Free Rice is a trivia Game.  You get to choose the subject, the difficulty, and how much or little you play.  You can also play alone or join the Paragon group.  You can choose to register, play annonmously, or play under a "psuedo" name.  As you play Freerice and answer questions right, advertisements appear on your screen. When you see one of these advertisements, you trigger a financial payment to the World Food Programme (WFP) to support its work saving and changing lives around the world.

2) Food cooking challenge:
ActNow has invited people around the world to share their individual contribution to sustainable food consumption.

Making clothes has a huge impact on climate change. The textile industry contributes around ten percent of global greenhouse gas emissions—it uses more energy than the aviation and shipping industry combined, according to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The industry’s impact is not limited to global carbon emissions. It also produces about 20 percent of global waste water and 85 percent of textiles end up in landfills or are incinerated when most of these materials could be reused.

The challenge: upcycle your old clothes for new looks and share your creations on social media using #ActNow.

ActNow will invite people around the world to make their individual contributions to zero-waste fashion. 

Dutch Clark students can make videos or take pics of three outfits and load them to Connections 101.  They can also post to their scoial media if they want.  The top videos will be posted on our social media pages.

In difficult times, staying positive make a huge difference.  Encouraging others is way to stay positive ourselves as well as serve those around us.  

The challenge: Go on a 30 gratitude streak where you commit to only post positive comments in social media.  30 consecutive days of social media posts expressing something you are greatful for each day. You can tag your comments with #gratitude30 and #DCD
